Procurement Specialist

Join our dynamic organization as a procurement specialist, where you will be the key person ensuring the (seamless) purchase of goods and services that are essential for the uninterrupted operation of our site. For this role, we are looking for an analytical person with a passion for vendor management and who is ready to take on challenges in a fast-growing organization within a production facility where glass packaging is produced, stored and distributed.
Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Vendor Management
- Identifying, evaluating and entering relationships with suppliers to guarantee the timely and cost-efficient purchase of quality goods and services, in consultation with the Procurement Manager
- Negotiating contracts and related conditions with suppliers to obtain favorable agreements and guarantee availability. This may be independently or in support of the Procurement Manager
Analyses & Follow-up
- Monitoring market trends to identify price volatility and assess the availability of necessary materials
- Monitoring stock levels to prevent shortages and excessive stocks and to ensure that they are in line with production schedules
- Together with the department ensuring that all purchasing activities comply with company policy and relevant regulations
- Keeping accurate records within the activities for audit purposes and reports with regard to management
- Identify potential risks to the supply chain and report on them
Other
- Take on an active role as an ambassador for sustainability initiatives to support the promotion and implementation of sustainable purchasing practices in order to achieve environmental and social responsibility goals:
- Stimulating various (functional) collaborations across departments, such as production, finance and logistics, in order to align purchasing strategies with the organization's objectives
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- In possession of a bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field, or equivalent through experience
- At least 5 years in procurement, preferably within a continuous production environment
- Fluency in English and Dutch is required
- Knowledge of purchasing software and ERP systems such as SAP (version: R3 or S/4HANA), and navigating the PtP process in an SAP environment is an important part of the job and an advantage
- Analytical ability to analyze data to substantiate purchasing decisions and strategies
- Strong communication skills, both written and oral, to interact with internal and external stakeholders, with or without cultural nuances that may influence this
- The ability to negotiate effectively with various suppliers
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost management principles regarding procurement, warehousing and logistics and the ability to critically engage with these
- Organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously and to deliver within the set objectives
