Mechanical Technician

As a Mechanical Technician at Ciner Glass in Lommel, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, resolving technical malfunctions and contributing to structural improvements by working together with various teams. You will work as a Mechanical Technician in production on the production installations (in 6 shifts) or in the utilities department on HVAC and water purification installations (day shift).
As a technician, in the beginning you will be offered a general technical/in-depth training to learn about the techniques and installations we use, as well as the various steps in our production process. You will then move on to job-specific training in a role that best suits your talents and you will play a role in the implementation of the production installations, as well as supporting our engineers. After the training period in day shifts, you will be assigned to your final work schedule. (Day shifts or 6 shifts)

Responsibilities & Key Tasks
As a Mechanical Technician, you will work production or utilities (utility services) related. The core responsibilities are the same, but the domain in which you work is different. As a technician, you are responsible for ensuring the continuity of production by performing preventive and corrective maintenance. You will do this either within production on the production installations or on the utility installations that supply or receive from production, such as water treatment installations, HVAC installations, gas installations, etc. In each of the two roles, you will work as a Mechanical Technician with various departments to effectively solve problems and ensure a seamless production process.
- Perform corrective, curative and preventive maintenance work
- Reporting and coordinating maintenance activities that require downtime
- Performing assembly, disassembly, overhauls and adjustments to machines and installations
- Reading, interpreting and following work instructions
- Performing preparatory work such as reviewing projects and instructions
- Monitoring and reporting on calibration periods of measuring equipment
- Working with computer systems and machine controls according to company rules
- Registering and maintaining the work in systems, registers and reports
- Transferring the work correctly
- Sharing knowledge and training of colleagues
- Manage and transport materials, tools and equipment for maintenance, as well as their correct and safe use
- Contribute to continuous improvement processes and efficiency projects
Utilities
- Performing water and infrastructure work on projects
Manufacturing
- Perform works on production related machinery and equipment
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
General
- A degree in a technical field (with specialization in mechanics)
- You are mechanically strong
- Several years of experience in a maintenance or technical support position, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge, with expertise in identifying and solving problems and repairing industrial machinery
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with team members, department heads and external suppliers in Dutch. English is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments and teams
Mechanical Utilities Technician
- You have a basic knowledge of HVAC installations
- You are willing to work in day shifts
Mechanical Maintenance Technician
