Electrical Technician

As an Electrical Technician at Ciner Glass in Lommel, you will be responsible for carrying out preventive maintenance and contributing to structural improvements by working together with various teams. With your expertise in electrical systems, you will resolve malfunctions, carry out inspections and monitor safety and efficiency. As an Electrical Technician, you will work in production on the production installations or in the utilities department on low & medium voltage installations, in a 6-shift system (read for more information).
As a technician, you will initially be offered general technical/in-depth training to learn about the techniques and installations we use and discover the various steps in the production process. You will then move on to job-specific training in a role that best suits your talents and will be able to play a role in the implementation of the production installations and support our engineers. After the training period in day shifts, you will be assigned to your final work schedule.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Do you have a passion for technology and are you looking for a challenging job in shifts? As an Electrical Technician you take care of the maintenance and optimal operation of our machines and installations in the field of production or utilities. You solve malfunctions, perform inspections and work together with colleagues to keep processes running smoothly. In addition, you contribute to improvements and adhere to safety and quality standards.
- Preparing and monitoring shift changes and processes
- Performing periodic and proactive breakdown, adjustment and maintenance work
- Oversee inventory of spare and consumable supplies as well as PPE (personal protective equipment) compliance
- Maintain usernames and passwords in machine and automation software and ensure their security
- Identifying shortcomings in working conditions, notifying them and making improvement proposals to supervisor and involved parties
- Written and oral reports on completed work and processing the information
- Processing, recording and maintaining registrations in systems and report books
- Testing the systems and machines before delivery
- Tracking calibration periods of measuring equipment and informing supervisor in case of deviations
- Make suggestions for process improvements and participate in their implementations
- Actively participate in emergency drills and sustainability initiatives
Utilities
- Perform water and infrastructure work on projects
Manufacturing
- Perform works on software and high & medium voltage installations
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- A degree in a technical field (with a specialization in electrical techniques)
- You have strong electrical skills
- Basic knowledge of electrical measuring instruments such as multimeters
- Several years of experience in a maintenance or technical support position, ideally within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong electrical knowledge, with expertise in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery
- Excellent communication skills to communicate effectively with team members, department heads and external suppliers in Dutch. English is a plus
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other departments and teams
