Warehouse Supervisor

The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for the operational management of an automated high-bay warehouse that supports continuous industrial glass production. This role oversees the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials, ensuring that warehouse operations align with production schedules, and maintaining the highest standards of safety, efficiency, and inventory accuracy. Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Operational Management:
- Oversee the daily operations of the automated high-bay warehouse, ensuring efficient material flow to support uninterrupted 24/7 production
- Swift intervention in case of (partial) downtime of the high bay automated warehouse
- Escalate downtime issue that cannot be resolved in-house Assure designated team members are up to speed on the workings and 1st line response to down time
- Track availability v.s. SLA and report outliers and or trend line deviations
- Safety 1st and incident prevention mentality
- Experience with Low Oxygen environment and procedures around such workplace
- Monitor and manage automated systems to ensure optimal performance and promptly address any issues that may arise
Inventory Control:
- Maintain accurate inventory records through regular audits and real-time data collection
- Familiar with cycle counts and how to set up and maintain
- Assure that high bay warehouse and ERP are in sync and adequate resolve discrepancies
- Consistency and accuracy in inventory and delivery spot checks of the team and reporting thereof
- Implement control procedures to monitor stock levels and minimize discrepancies
Team Leadership:
- Supervise, train, and develop warehouse staff, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement
- Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately, and appraise results
Safety and Compliance:
- Enforce health, safety, and security procedures to ensure a safe working environment, experience with Oxygen reduced environments is a bonus
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies, close cooperation with (local) HSE team is required
Process Improvement:
- Identify opportunities for efficiency enhancement and implement process improvement initiatives
- Tailor rotas to workload so adequate capacity is in place
Stakeholder Collaboration:
- Liaise with production, procurement, and logistics teams to ensure timely availability of materials and alignment with production schedules
- Communicate effectively with the warehouse team to so storage and shipping of goods is uninterrupted
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field
- Proven experience in warehouse management, preferably in an automated or high-bay warehouse environment
- Knowledge of warehouse management procedures, best practices, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- LOTO procedures are your 2nd or 3rd language
- Proficiency in Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and other relevant software applications
- Robust decision-making, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 production environment
- Being physically able to work under demanding conditions in our warehouse, while sitting at a desk or walking through our warehouse
