Production Engineer

As a Production Engineer at Ciner Glass, you’ll have the opportunity to help build a brand-new, state-of-the-art glass factory that is currently in full start-up mode.
You will be responsible for ensuring that our production processes within the IS department run correctly, safely, and efficiently. This department is the heart of our production, where our glass bottles are blown and the quality of our final product is determined.
You combine technical insight, analytical skills, and a natural sense of leadership.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks
As an IS Production Engineer at Ciner Glass, you will be part of a growing production facility. In the initial phase, you will guide machine builders and witness the assembly of our machine park from A to Z. Afterwards, you will oversee all activities within the department, report on them, and optimize production processes. In this role, you report to the IS Manager.
Ensuring a smooth production process
- Responsible for analyzing production data and efficiency within the assigned department, and determining actions via RCA when targets are not met.

Identifying bottlenecks and implementing improvements to increase operational efficiency, both within your own area and across departments in collaboration with other engineers.

Acting as the escalation point for production issues and coordinating with the technical department as needed. In case of recurring issues, you will set up a project team together with technical engineers to find structural solutions.

Organizing maintenance during line stoppages in consultation with the technical team.

Ensuring compliance with various standards, including management system standards, procedures, and/or quality norms.

Ensuring availability of materials related to the production process, in line with technical drawings and specifications, even during product changes or new product launches.
Reporting & Budgeting
- Involved in the preparation of the annual budget and works cost-consciously.
- Preparing various reports related to the department.
Leadership & Team Development
- Coach technicians and oversee work distribution and capacity planning.
- Conduct evaluations, performance reviews, and training plans.
- Manage leave requests, personnel administration, and team communication.
- Promote a positive work culture focused on initiative and ownership.
Innovation, Optimization & Projects
- Participates in workgroups and projects related to the department.
- Develops and implements new procedures and work instructions, and keeps current documentation up to date, optionally in collaboration with operators.
- Follows up on new product and mould testing.
- Monitors and optimizes the efficiency of the production process where possible.
- Acts as a key user during the implementation of specific production software (e.g., SAP).
- Participates in sustainability initiatives and audits.
Consulting, Training & Safety
- Actively participates in meetings.
- Leads by example in elevating our safety culture and involving operators in projects, improvement ideas, and discussions.
- Trains others, such as fellow engineers.
- Maintains a presence on the production floor.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Bachelor or Master, preferably in mechanical, chemical, industrial engineering, or process technology.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in an industrial production environment (glass, metal, food, plastics...), with experience in the glass industry being a strong plus.
- Open-minded and eager to learn, including willingness to follow training in the fascinating and challenging glass production process.
- Practical knowledge of SAP or similar ERP systems is a plus.
- Systematic and analytical mindset, with strong sense of responsibility towards project finances, planning, and knowledge sharing.
- Strong communication skills with all stakeholders, both in Dutch and English (spoken and written).
- A team player who contributes to achieving project goals together.
- A dynamic personality characterized by proactivity and innovation.
