As a Team Leader Mechanical Maintenance, you play a crucial role in keeping our technical installations operational and improving them on the mechanical side.
You are responsible for managing your team and optimizing our processes.
In close collaboration with your colleagues in production and engineering, you ensure a safe and high-performing production environment within a rapidly growing company. Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Teamwork & Leadership
- Provide daily leadership to your team of mechanics with a passion for technology. Motivate and coach them where needed
- Organize shift handovers to guarantee effective knowledge transfer
- Conduct feedback and evaluation meetings
- Promote a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning
Ensuring a Smooth Production Process
- Responsible for ensuring a smoothly running production process on the mechanical side by delegating and managing tasks within your team
- Execute/coordinate the preventive maintenance plan and manage the necessary administration to balance corrective and preventive maintenance
- Coordinate activities with other teams and processes to minimize production downtime
- Organize and supervise periodic, preventive, and corrective maintenance
- Continuously monitor machine settings and intervene in case of deviations or failures
- Act as an expert when your team needs technical support
- Provide the necessary documentation and reports for your department
Innovation, Optimization & Projects
- Actively contribute to improvement proposals and efficiency projects
- Closely involved in implementing new technologies and the relocation or installation of equipment
- Analyse data to support optimizations and sustainability initiatives within the technical department
Consultation, Training & Safety
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, standards, and internal procedures
- Ensure your team has the right skills by organizing or providing training
- Actively participate in audits, meetings, emergency drills, and internal communication platforms
- Represent your department during internal and external quality inspections
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Technical diploma in secondary education, associate degree, or bachelor’s degree in electromechanics, mechanical engineering, maintenance technology, or equivalent
- At least 5 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance within a production environment
- Minimum 2 years of leadership experience, or ready for the next step supported by training in soft skills or leadership
- Strong technical insight and experienced in interpreting technical and maintenance plans
- Knowledge of (and affinity with) maintenance management systems and industrial software
- Clear and results-oriented communicator, with a strong focus on safety and quality
- Fluent in Dutch and English
