Material Storage Supervisor

As a Material Storage Supervisor at Ciner Glass Belgium, you will play a crucial role in MRO and material storage activities. Ready for your share of “bottle happiness”?
You will set up and steer MRO and our packaging warehouse. You will also be responsible for overseeing all activities related to the receipt, storage, control, and issuance of maintenance, repair, and operating materials. This role ensures high equipment availability through efficient inventory management, accurate data processing and coordination with maintenance, procurement, and production teams.
Responsibilities & Key Tasks
Leadership
- Lead and develop a small warehouse team across all shifts; ensure training and compliance with safety and quality standards
Supervise daily operations
- Supervise daily MRO warehouse operations, ensuring materials are available to support 24/7 production
- Oversee goods receipt, inspection, storage, picking, and dispatch according to safety and quality procedures
- Maintain accurate stock levels and coordinate with procurement to avoid shortages or obsolescence
- Implement and monitor maintenance spare parts strategies, including min/max levels and critical spare lists
- Ensure timely staging and return of parts for scheduled and emergency maintenance activities
- Manage and optimize warehouse layout, storage systems and material flows to support lean and safe operations
- Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts, SAP/system transaction control, and physical checks
- Develop and report on KPIs such as stock accuracy, service level, and requisition lead time
- maintain stock accuracy for all MRO materials through regular cycle counts, stock reconciliations, PtP process and SAP updates
Coordinating with internal stakeholders
- Coordinate with maintenance planners to align material availability with preventive maintenance schedules, work with Osapiens & SAP4HANA to align upcoming PM actions
- Collaborate with 'procurement' to evaluate supplier returns, warranty claims, and material quality issues
- Ensure adherence to EHS regulations and plant-specific standards for hazardous and critical items (lubricants, tools, PPE, etc.)
Qualifications, Competencies & Experience
- Education: secondary or higher technical education, or equivalent experience in industrial warehousing or maintenance logistics
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in spare parts or technical warehouse management, preferably in continuous or 24/7 production environments
- Technical know-how: Familiarity with mechanical/electrical parts, MRO categories, and SAP4HANA
- Languages: fluency in Dutch and English
- Other requirements: Forklift license or willingness to obtain it, knowledge of ISO and safety regulations applicable to industrial storage
- Sparring partner towards production and maintenance teams
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently under time pressure
- Excellent communication across operational and technical levels
- Commitment to safety, accuracy, and cleanliness
